LRQA & ASME Awards for Cochran
We have been awarded the new ISO Standard and are now certified to ISO9001: 2015 Quality Assurance accreditation renewed by Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance (LRQA). The new standard has superseded the previous ISO9001: 2008. Cochran’s manufacturing plant in Annan has continuously held ISO accreditation since February 1990.
Allan Shaw, co-ordinated the audit and says: “Our Annan factory was subjected to a rigorous 5 day audit by LRQA, they were very pleased with robustness of our systems to deliver the quality of product that our customers demand.
On top of this we are happy to state that following The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Audit which was conducted by Tim McGee of ASME in Canada; we have been recommended for renewal of the ASME S & U Stamps for a further three years.
Our ASME ‘S’ and ‘U’ stamp and our Royal Warrant as boiler manufacturer to HM the Queen. We are the only UK industrial boilermaking factory who can offer customers such third party accreditations. There is a recognition around the world of the quality of our manufacture, approximately 40% of what we build is exported.
When you are manufacturing such safety critical components such as boiler shells and combustion equipment it is important that your factory has reputable third party endorsement of its quality systems and procedures.
We are proud and delighted that the quality of what we do is globally recognised. This can be attributed to the skills and loyalty of our workforce who have enabled us to continue manufacturing in UK for over 138 years when so many others have fallen by the wayside”
